Kelly’s Children Collograph Oil, pencil on paper 18” x 24” 2006
This collograph was made using real parts of plants, specifically Southern Moss. Materials were lacquered onto the surface, then modge podged and allowed to dry. Plates were rubbed with oils, then run through an etching press onto high quality watercolor paper. Dry prints were then worked into useing colored pencils to highlight and emphasize details and individualize each print. The piece speaks about hope adn new life in teh the face of illness and death. But a growing beauty in the spiritual realm as through the giving up of self. Hope in the knowledge that a world without suffering is yet to come, and strength and endurance for thsi lifetime.
